An evangelist or preacher is a proclaimer of the good news of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11 & 2 Timothy 4:1-5). In assemblies of worship, in the classroom, and in private studies, the goal of a minister of the gospel is to lead both Christians and seekers in Bible study and application. To do the work of an evangelist (2 Timothy 4:5) is to declare the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), to proclaim the “good news” of the kingdom of heaven (Acts 28:30-31), and to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

Our history

As is normal, we humans either allow, or cause, our mind’s to store certain memories that are quickly recalled when prompted by other recollections. In regard to churches, the building is often as strong a memory as are the members, preachers, and events that occurred in the building. Especially is that so when a church has remained in one location for a lengthy period of time…
